Should I be patient or move on?

I really hurt this guy that I was interested in. We went out on a few dates but had been talking for a while. I realized that I wasn’t as ready to date as I thought I was, long story short I was still dealing with trauma from my previous relationship and felt that until I deal with this I shouldn’t be dating. I ghosted him instead of explaining this to him because I was afraid he wouldn’t take it well or that he’d try to change my mind. This was the worst way to go about this I know this now and I realized shortly after that I didn’t want him completely out of my life but took time to heal. Once I felt like I was healed I reached out to him and he wasn’t angry just explained that how I ended things made him more sad than angry and he wanted an explanation of why I ended things the way I did. I told him how I felt that I missed him and why I did what I did and how sorry I truly was. He said he thinks about me too but never responded when I tried to explain to him why I did what I did. Does he just need time to process all of this or is he just done with the whole entire thing? He also unfollowed me on instagram:( seems to me that he wants nothing to do with me but maybe he just needs space to think. Advice?
