Prime Big Deal Days: Everything We Know
Get a Head Start on Your Holiday Shopping & Save Big With Amazon's Prime Day Redux
Amazon has thrown us another curveball by announcing a second major sales event this year, right on time for the holiday season. Which means, if you missed out on the Prime Day deals back in mid-July, you'll soon have a second chance to save on major and minor purchases alike.
That's right: on October 8th and 9th, Amazon will host its Big Deal Days extravaganza, with massive discounts across all its major product categories, from fun trinkets and knickknacks to big-ticket items like televisions and appliances. You can get a jump on your holiday shopping, finding presents for your loved ones, or finally buy that computer or 4K TV you've been eyeing. And if you're really savvy, you'll make sure to check out those daily and weekly essentials, from batteries to garbage bags, and those mundane household items like toasters and microwaves, as these, too, will likely be more affordable during these two upcoming October days than at any other time in the year.
Here's everything we think you need to know about this massive savings opportunity.
When Is the Prime Big Deal Days Event Happening?
The second Prime sales event of 2024 begins Tuesday, October 8 at midnight PST/3 a.m. EST, and continues through to the end of Wednesday, October 9, placing it just under seven weeks ahead of the upcoming Black Friday sales.
The Pre-Sale Discount
To advertise the Big Deal Days sale and get shoppers excited for the discounts to come, Amazon is already discounting some items. For the time being, you can take 55% off most Echo smart home devices, enjoy four free months of Amazon Music Unlimited, and even take $10 off a single GrubHub order of $15 or more with the discount code PRIME10.
What Do I Have to Do to Score the Best Deals?
Alright, you know the where and you know the when — all that's left is the how. As with the regular Prime Day sales event, you will need an Amazon Prime membership to be eligible for these savings, but if you don't already have one, never fear: you can simply sign up for a free trial and then cancel your membership after the fact, before the first payment is even due.
Aside from that, you're probably going to feel a bit overwhelmed. After all, there will be thousands and thousands of deals, with new ones added every minute, and finding what you want or might want can be like looking for a needle in a digital haystack.
Never fear, though, because we at AskMen will be covering the event, bringing you the best deals across some of the most important categories, from tech and fashion to grooming and couples gifts. Follow our coverage closely and you can knock off most of your holiday shopping in advance, and maybe even grab all the Halloween decorations and costumes you need to celebrate October 31st with the whole family.
