Survey Says Daters Now Look for Matching Libidos
This One Crucial Factor Could Play a Huge Role in New Relationships in 2025
The Story
Have you ever been in a relationship with someone whose sex drive was vastly different from your own?
A new survey by the dating app Flure suggests you’re not alone — that’s because a matching libido is the trait respondents identified as being the most important for dating in 2025.

The Snapshot
Flure’s survey asked 2,000 of their users what they were looking for this year when it comes to sex and love.

And while many of the responses weren’t especially surprising, the one about matching libidos caught our eye: With just over a third of respondents (34%) selecting is at their most important trait, handily beating out things like ‘shared interests or hobbies’ (23%) and ‘physical appearance (10%), among others.

Another surprising takeaway? Over a quarter (28%) of respondents are interested in getting back with an ex. While the majority of people are comfortable leaving the past in the past, the percentage of people who are feeling nostalgic for an old flame is noticeably high.

The Lesson
It’s no secret that sex can play a huge part in whether relationships work out or not, even if couples are otherwise genuinely compatible.
So many people begin relationships by establishing personal chemistry first and sexual compatibility later, if at all, but is that really the right approach? Maybe we should be considering our bedroom compatibility right at the beginning along with everything else.
While Flure is a hookup app and thus many of its members may have sex on their minds more than the average person, recognizing the importance of sexual compatibility in the early going could save lots of couples some grief down the road.
Having honest talks about sex, filling out a Yes/No/Maybe list together or completing a kink questionnaire may not be something our parents’ or grandparents’ generations did, but these things can be useful in determining whether someone’s really right for you.
